Angela started Kitsap Farms in 2016. She grew up in New York City and wanted a more peaceful way of life. She moved to the Puget Sound area where Kitsap Farms is located today. It was here that she met and married Harold Hogan. Harold grew up on a farm outside of Dallas but relocated to the Puget Sound area for his former employer.

Understanding traditional farming Harold made it his mission to join her in providing healthy, locally grown food to their community using sustainable farming practices – Aquaponics!
All the growing practices at Kitsap Farms are sustainable and environmentally friendly. We use compostable packaging, solar power, responsibly sourced fish feed and more. By using Aquaponics, we use substantially less water than traditional farming and eliminate the use of herbicides and pesticides. This allows us to produce healthful, flavorful, safe, and sustainable produce for our community.

Aquaponics is the ideal answer to a fish farmer’s problem of disposing of nutrient rich water and a hydroponic growers need for nutrient rich water. Essentially, aquaponics mimics every natural waterway on earth. It is used to grow food crops in a concentrated, yet sustainable manner.
We have several varieties of salad mixes. Each contains its own unique blend of flavors and colors. The heads of lettuce that make up each mix are planted and grown together at the same time. Your mix is never processed. Instead it is grown as a mix and cut and delivered to you as a mix!
